        China Smart Homes & Buildings Industry News Flash

        With China’s percentage of elderly population estimated to reach 25% by 2030, smart homes for seniors will be the next big trend to watch. LivingLab predicts that for our elderly to have a safe and easy retired life, smart home solutions like fingerprint smart locks, scene-setting systems, gas leak detectors, flood sensor alarms, Infrared and motion sensor night lights, and etc., are the first-choice items.
         
        [Industry Regulations]
        Ø Published by China Video Industry Association (CVIA), the Smart TV Advertisement Service Regulations will come into force this Sept. 13th. The Regulations is co-written by smart TV service platforms, product quality supervision & market research institutes, academies, and major TV makers at home and abroad, such as Skyworth, Hisense, TCL, Changhong, KONKA, Haier, SAMSUNG, Sony, LG, and etc.  
         
        Ø Affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the commencement of the (GB 38448-2019) Minimum Allowable Values of the Energy, Water Consumption and Grades for Intelligent Water Closets is postponed from July 1st, 2020 to Jan. 1st, 2021, giving Chinese smart toilets makers ample time to adapt to the new standards.

        Ø Date from China Electronics Standardization Institute show that in 2019 China’s smart home market has surpassed 150 billion yuan and keeps on expanding rapidly at a 20-30% growth rate. What’s more, in 2019, a total of 4442 smart home related patent applications were filed in China.
